First Master class

We held our first master class today on using twitter.

The two sessions we held worked well. The morning session's focus was explaining the purpose of using twitter as a teacher and how we can develop an online PD community.  It  was great to see so many teachers interested and motivated to join and use twitter! We now have a few more teachers signed up to twitter!

The afternoon's session focus on on using hashtags. We have begun (thanks to @Myravardon) a #Vardonchat and #VardonPD hashtag.

Let's get tweeting everyone!

  1. Another great example of exemplary leadership Marcelle! Well done on sharing your knowledge with such patience as always :)
Love the idea of the Master Classes and the staff seem to be enjoying this process too. Keep them coming.

  2. To Marcelle,
Unfortunately I missed the Twitter session but I have really enjoyed the 100WC and Symbaloo sessions. I am getting my head around Symbaloo and can see the benefits of it being a visual favourites page. I have also loved using the 100WC with my top writers to begin with. The motivation has been great and once again has sparked the enthusaism for receiving comments and really using the blogs as a feed-forward, feedback avenue. Taking care to do it properly I am starting out with my more able writers but can't wait to get the whole class on there eventually.
Thanks for the great ideas. Everyone has wonderful things they are doing in class it is great to have time to share what is working for others.

  3. Great master class Marcelle. I have decided not to join twitter at this stage as I feel I have lots of other things to work through and learn. Still great to see how it works for you and how it provides a vehicle for professional learning.
