Great website... ideas to 'technify' your teaching

http://www.teachgennow.com.au/

The first great idea I found on this site was Smore. http://www.smore.com/app/ It is an online poster creator, similar to Glogster. You can upload poster to blogs, twitter, facebook and share with others. It would be great to use for our school events. I created a glog last term for the ICT parents evening but had to take a snapshot of it and upload as a picture to share on twitter. from what I have seen on Smore you can upload straight away to twitter.

Where to from here?
  • trial making a poster on Smore and upload to class blog
  • model and teach to an expert in my class to then teach others
  • reflect on the use of this tool; What are the benefits of uing this tool?

Ideas to inspire

A great website!!!! There are ideas on how to use different ICT tools. I am currently exploring using voice thread to 'capture student voice' in my class and this gave me some great ideas.
You can also use the ideas on IWB's.
Looking forward to utilising this website to it's full potential!!!

Websites

http://photopeach.com/
Here you can put your photos together and choose the music! Just like our video editing on our flip videos but better?? because you can use saved photos form your computer plus your own music!

http://www.fotobabble.com/
You can add voices to photos on this website.

http://www.imagechef.com/ic/word_mosaic/
You can make mosaics from words.

http://www.dogonews.com/
A news page for chn. You need to sign in. You can then create news pages for your class. It could be used for reading groups. You can even write questions.
I have heard this site is wonderful but I haven't given it a true look at yet... it's on my to do list :)

What are other schools doing?

http://nzedublogs.wikispaces.com/NZ+classroom+student+blogs

This is a great website to view what other schools are doing with digital portfolios!

Check them out (there's quite a lot!!) and I'd love to know what you enjoyed and might try with your class.
